PEDIATRIC ORAL SURGERY
Buckeye, AZ
“If I could give this place a million stars, I would! The office staff, dentist as well as the anesthesiologists were all so amazing, kind, and show compassion! My 4yr old had to have dental surgery and it was extensive! They were so accommodating and they had no issues following up with my concerns! The anesthesiologist answered any and all texts and calls that I had as well!. . .”

Types of Oral Surgeries
Root Canals
A root canal may be required when a tooth is severely injured or decayed, especially for deep cavities that reach the tooth’s nerve. This procedure involves removing the damaged nerve tissue and replacing it with a medicated material. Afterward, a crown or cap is placed on the tooth to provide long-lasting protection and restore its function.
Extractions
Tooth extraction, or the removal of a tooth, is always considered a last resort. However, in some situations, it is necessary to ensure your child’s overall health. After an extraction, we are here to help restore your child’s healthy, functional, and beautiful smile.
Common Reasons for Dental Extractions:
- Severe infection
- Extensive decay or damage
- Severe crowding
Malocclusions
Malocclusions refer to conditions like overbite, underbite, open bite, or crossbite, caused by misaligned or crowded teeth. This occurs when the upper and lower teeth don’t align properly when the jaw is closed, often due to genetics, injury, or environmental factors. Severe cases can impact the comfort and appearance of the lower face.
While most malocclusions can be corrected with orthodontics, more severe cases may require surgical intervention to reshape the jaw. This procedure may involve lengthening or shortening the jaw using stabilizing screws, plates, or wires. After surgery, aligners or braces are often used to maintain proper alignment.
Untreated malocclusions can lead to:
- Missing teeth
- Tooth decay
- Cracked, chipped, or worn teeth
- Speech difficulties
- Sleep disturbances
- Sores inside the cheeks
- TMJ pain and headaches
- Changes in facial appearance
