Sick teenage girlAs your family grows you will need to employ to services of not just one pediatrician but multiple physicians to ensure the health and safety of your family. Here is the list of pediatricians to find for your children.

General Pediatrician

Whether your child is suffering from a cold or they simply need a check-up, it is important to find a pediatrician or family physician that you trust. Pediatricians specialize in the care of children and often have methods for placating your little ones.
Everything from annual physical exams, disease care, and treatment of common illnesses can be handled by the general pediatrician.

 Pediatric Dentist

Visiting the dentist can be a scary event for small children. That is why it is important to find a dentist who specializes in the treatment of children. Even before your child develops their first tooth it is important to visit a dentist to know what to expect for your families future.
Luckily Sun Valley specializes in working with children and developing a fun atmosphere that makes children comfortable.

 Optometrist or Ophthalmologist

Before the age of five your child should have their first vision screening, even if there haven’t been any outward signs of vision problems. Both optometrists and ophthalmologists specialize in both vision problems and issues that affect the eyes like astigmatism. The only difference between the two is an ophthalmologist can perform surgery.
It is paramount that your child receives corrective lenses or glasses before the first grade so they can see the white board during classes.

 Gynecologist

Young women should have their first gynecological visit and exam between the ages of 13 and 15, regardless of sexual activity. Your daughter may not receive her first pelvic exam or Pap smear, this is an opportunity for a doctor to lay the groundwork for future visits and provide education on periods, cramps, sex and birth control.
