Thanksgiving is a great time of year to reflect on the things we’re most thankful for – why not a great smile?thanksgiving in az
Taking care of your teeth is a full time job but the friendly team at Sun Valley pediatric helps make it a little easier. Want to keep your teeth looking great for a lifetime? Check out these awesome tips, perfectly applicable during any time of the year.
Early oral health is one of the most important components of maintaining a great smile built to stand the test of time. Parents will want to impress the importance of building a great routine very early. One of the best ways to do this, of course, is practicing what you preach.
Children learn most of their behavior from their parents. It’s a great idea early on in your child’s development to brush alongside them, to show them the proper technique. You’ll also want to use this time to teach them how to properly floss and go the extra mile during their nightly routine.
A little refresher course for parents, how long are you supposed to brush and how long? Many of us forget that an adequate brushing job actually entails two solid minutes of brushing in small circles. Brushing this way works against the natural shape of our teeth, helping us better remove food debris and built-up plaque.
Flossing helps address those trouble areas our brush can’t reach – little cracks and valleys between teeth too narrow for the average family of bristles. One of the easiest ways for kids to floss is by providing them plastic flossers – these devices are ready to use and easily affordable. Make sure your child is brushing at least once a day, most recommended before bed time. You don’t want them sleeping with any junk degrading their teeth!
Show your smile you’re thankful in 2015, get connected with Sun Valley Pediatric dental!
