No fireplace to hang those stockings over? No problem. This adorable scrap wood stocking hanger makes a more personal alternative.
Grab yourself some scrap wood pieces – the more rustic the better – and measure out about 8-12 inches per. Cut as many pieces as you need hooks.
Measure out the distance of the boards all side by side – cut yourself an appropriately long horizontal piece to bind them together. Screw this piece in place and add some heavy duty D-rings to the top of the horizontal connecting bar.
You can the boards red & green – really whatever you like – and add your own custom salutation. ‘Merry Christmas’ works great, but creativity is encouraged! For a little more character, you can sand out some of the color with an extra fine piece of sandpaper.
Finally, screw white hooks to the bottom of the wooden boards and find a good place near the tree to mount the board. Finish up by hanging your stockings and, ta-da! You have yourself a Pinterest-friendly stocking hanger!
