The Best Halloween Movies
Beetlejuice
This classic freaky flick packs an all-star cast including Alec Baldwin, Geena Davis and Michael Keaton. The movie follows new members of the afterlife as they contract the services of Beetlejuice, a crude ghost adept at scaring the living. This romp is serious fun but probably a little too scary for very young children.
Coraline
One of the greatest animated movies that’s managed to fly under the radar, Coraline stars an adventurous young girl as she stumbles into a new world – an idealized version of her frustrating home. What kind of sinister secrets lurk behind the vision of perfection? Watch and find out!
Hocus Pocus
These bewitching sisters have ruled Halloween for three decades. It comes down to a couple of heroic teenagers, a young girl and a magical cat to put a stop to their reign of terror. It’s no easy feat, as viewers will quickly find out. One of our absolute favorites, this movie is a classic.
Edward Scissorhands
Tim Burton’s original masterpiece, Edward Scissorhands has been an iconic figure of the Halloween season. The plot follows Johnny Depp, an uncommonly gentle man who just so happens to have scissors for hands. Equal parts a romance, the movie follows Edward’s growing affection for a young girl.
It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown
This is without question a Halloween classic. First aired in 1966, the Great Pumpkin is an iconic part of Halloween for many families. The movie follows the Peanuts gang as they celebrate Halloween – Linus meanwhile awaits the arrival of the Great Pumpkin.
