While Downtown Phoenix’s First Fridays are populated with millennial hipsters soaking up the best art that the Valley has to offer, Mesa has begun it’s own tradition geared at the gear-heads in your life. Motorcycles on Main is an event that occurs every first Friday of the month in the heart of Downtown Mesa.
Over 3,000 motorcycle enthusiasts show up every month to rev their engines and show off their rides at Motorcycles on Main. What started in 2007 as a small local meetup for 30 people was embraced by the city in 2010. Since then it has grown to an event not only for fans of motorsports but for anyone who loves good food, live music and the excellent craftsmanship displayed in custom motorcycles. Cars are banned from Main street for the night so motorcycles get their time to shine!
The event was created as a place for motorcycle enthusiasts to meet with like-minded people to talk shop and share stories about life on the road. Additionally, Motorcycles on Main serves as a one stop shop for riders with small businesses like Hog Wear selling motorcycle accessories including Harley-Davidson themed wallets, jewelry and motorcycle polishing wax.
In addition to the display of motorcycles, Motorcycles on Main also offers a venue for small local businesses to showcase their products. Downtown restaurants stay open late for the event including Volstead Public House, Queen’s Pizzeria, Mangos Mexican Café, Margaritas Grille, il Vinaio, Nunthaporn’s Thai Cuisine and Republica Empanada.
The event is sponsored by various motorsports shops in the valley including Desert Winds Harley Davidson, Victory of Mesa Motorcycles, and Headkace Motorcycles.

Motorcycles on Main is one of the many things to do in Mesa that are sponsored by the city. 2nd Friday Night Out is a monthly event that showcases the vibrant art culture of Mesa with 70+ art booths, activities for kids, food and live music. For families with children Downtown Mesa offers Kidtastic events, which are geared towards young families. The 2016 schedule has yet to be released but stay posted for updates soon.
